Stefano Doni (CTO at Akamas) will speak at the Performance Summit London 2021 online conference, that will take place on February 23rd.
Java is ubiquitous in online services, yet ensuring Java applications’ availability and performance remains a challenging task.
So what is a performance engineer to do? AI-based technologies can help. An AI platform can take in all the relevant stack parameters, and metrics from monitoring tools, and generate target configurations that optimize for any given goal. That goal can be set to directly solve for high-level application performance target e.g. maximize payments/sec while keeping cost SLAs under a threshold. The emphasis shifts then from low-level JVM tuning to end-to-end, continuous high-level optimization.
In this talk, we show how established industry approaches and widely-accepted beliefs about Java tuning are wrong and how AI breaks through long-standing limitations.
Stefano is obsessed with performance optimization and drives Akamas vision for Autonomous Performance Optimization powered by AI. Stefano has more than 15 years of experience in Performance Engineering and led Moviri Research & Development team before co-founding Akamas. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and in 2015 he won the Computer Measurement Group Best Paper Award.
