Akamas will deliver two sessions at Performance Summit 2021 on September, 29th-30th devoted to illustrate how ML-based optimization can be effective for tuning critical applications running on a diversity of complex IT stacks.
In the US track, Luca Chiabrera (Head of Customer Success and Sales Engineering) will present his session on: “Tailoring Google Dataproc to reduce Spark execution time and cut the bill” and be part of the final panel sessions.
In this session, Luca will show how Machine Learning techniques can automatically tune Dataproc and Spark applications configurations to make Spark applications run faster and lower billing costs.

Since he was a kid Luca loved to break stuff to understand how they worked. Over the last 14 years, he worked in the Performance Engineering space helping hundreds of customers across Europe to build and deliver fast and resilient services. Recently he moved to the US looking for a new playground and new challenges.
