Stefano Doni (CTO at Akamas) will speak at the JavaZone 2021 conference held in Oslo, Norway on December 8th-9th.
During this session, Stefano will address the question of why Java developers today continue to face application performance issues such as long response time or high CPU usage and why tuning the JVM by relying on established best practices and lessons learned is not effective anymore.
Stefano will share a novel approach to performance tuning based on Machine Learning techniques to automatically find JVM options that maximize application performance. Some counterintuitive results of this approach will be also discussed to demonstrate how todays’ tuning practices intended to deliver higher performance may actually slow application down.
Stefano is obsessed with performance optimization and drives Akamas vision for Autonomous Performance Optimization powered by AI. Stefano has more than 15 years of experience in Performance Engineering and led Moviri Research & Development team before co-founding Akamas. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and in 2015 he won Computer Measurement Group Best Paper Award.
